“Tough Truck Night” to feature Shorttracktrucks.com Challenge Series, Smokey Burnout competition

AMHERST, Ohio -- There is nothing more American than apple pie, short track racing on a Saturday night, and Pickup trucks. In honor of the great American mode of transportation Lorain Speedway has designated the Saturday May 7th show as “Tough Truck Night”. Tough Truck Night will feature the ShortTrackTruck.com Challenge series where Chevrolet Silverado, Ford F-150, and Dodge Ram full-sized racing-prepared trucks compete in fender-to-fender excitement!

As part of the activities, fans can bring their pickup truck and compete in the Smokey Burnout Competition and the Ugly Truck Contest! All of the registered trucks will parade around the track, display their truck, and winners will be voted by fan applause. Race fans are also encouraged to “display their colors” for their favorite manufacturer while cheering for the Ford, Chevy, or Dodge rides of the ShortTrackTruck.com Challenge Series drivers.

In a move unprecedented in the local area, Lorain Speedway will offer race fans the chance to win a ride in one of the ShortTrackTrucks.Com Challenge Series trucks. Two lucky fans will win a ride in a ShortTrack Truck two-seater. Adult race fans will be registered to win with their General Admission Ticket at the gate. Fans can also register to win a ride on Lorain Speedway’s 3/8-mile oval on Friday, May 6th from 5-9 PM at Church Street Bar and Grill. Church Street Bar and Grill is located in Amherst, Ohio at the corner of Church and Tenney. Visit the bar, register to win, see the show truck, and meet one of the drivers in the Short Track Truck Challenge Series!

Reigning ShortTrackTrucks.com Series Champion Joey Shuryan will look to bring his Ford F-150 home at the front of the field at Lorain Speedway. Having competed there in the past in Outlaw Super Late Model competition, Shuryan stands out as the favorite. Although, he will have lots of company at the head of the field with Dodge Ram pilot, Keith Wioncek, winner of the last race of 2004, gearing up to challenge for the win. Look for the trucks to bring their trademark style of bump and rub, action-packed racing to Lorain Speedway. According to Wioncek, “we are so excited to run at Lorain Speedway. New fans and a new track add fuel to our fire – everyone wants to win the first ShortTrackTrucks.com Challenge Series race at Lorain!”
