ShortTrackTrucks.com Challenge Series Earns Membership within SFI Foundation
Livonia, MI (March 27, 2008)

While driver safety has always been a top priority for the ShortTrackTrucks.com Challenge Series teams as they compete on the finest raceways throughout the Midwest, the series took a dramatic step to improve their safety performance and demonstrate the series' commitment to safety as they announced the fast growing truck series will become a member of the prestigious SFI Foundation.

The SFI Foundation, Inc. (SFI) is a non-profit organization established to issue and administer standards for specialty/performance automotive and racing equipment. SFI was originally a foundation run by SEMA, the automotive aftermarket trade organization. Although SFI is now completely independent from SEMA, the Foundation has retained the name SFI Foundation, Inc. Manufacturers of equipment are the primary users of SFI standards. Some standards are adopted as part of the rules of race sanctioning organizations. Ultimately, the consumer benefits from the program as it establishes recognized levels of performance or quality for a product.

According to Carl Olson, Motorsports Manager for SFI Foundation, Inc., 'The management and staff members of the SFI Foundation, Inc. are extremely pleased to welcome the ShortTrackTrucks.com Challenge Series as its newest Member Sanctioning Body, joining the seventy-three other worldwide motorsport sanctioning bodies that currently avail themselves of SFI's safety related programs and services. SFI will be working very closely with Cary Cole and his associates to develop and maintain the highest possible level of safety at ShortTrackTrucks.com Challenge Series events. All of SFI's Quality Assurance Standards will be available to the Series, helping to ensure a minimum level of performance for critical safety related motorsports products.'

The SFI Foundation, Inc. offers two levels of participation for sanctioning bodies: membership and affiliation. The ShortTrackTrucks.com Challenge Series will participate at the advanced level of participation, the Member Sanctioning Body Program. In addition to using existing SFI specs, other SFI services available to the truck series include the development of new application-specific standards, technical personnel training and certification, and on-track incident response training. Comprehensive information regarding SFI and its various programs and services can be found on the internet web site at http://www.sfifoundation.com.

Short track racers of all types can benefit from the growing amount of data and experience in the racing safety market. Whether you race for a living or work a day job just to allow you to compete, driver safety products help protect you - and your livelihood - in the event of a mishap. Cary Cole, President of the ShortTrackTrucks.com Challenge Series, commented "we are very proud to be a member sanctioning body of the SFI Foundation. The safety related work done by SFI is the standard for safety certification and practices within the motorsports industry. I expect our relationship to improve our own safety standards as well as provide a voice for the entry level professional touring racer to the safety community."
